DESCRIPTION:  As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will develop, evolve and maintain an integrated system of data and tools to model, analyze, and automate workflows throughout the additive manufacturing processes for various spaceflight systems.  You’ll own this system which captures the required data and creates meaningful information for high efficiency invention, evolution, and stable execution of advanced manufacturing processes.  Interfacing with facility automation engineers, process engineers, design and analysis engineers, machine and process operators, enterprise tool developers, and equipment and material vendors, you’ll identify requirements and opportunities for data, tools, and workflow automation. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities
  • Incorporate and integrate both COTS and custom-developed tools and databases for design, materials, processes, analysis, testing, planning, and procurement
  • Identify and remove bottlenecks in all areas of the manufacturing process using workflow automation
  • Maximize use of manufacturing resources by streamlining upstream workflows and closing the loop on downstream procedures
  • Collaborate in defining manufacturing process TPMs, and create and maintain dashboards and reports that enable tracking and improvement
  • Enable data mining capabilities to support manufacturing process trade-off analysis, anomaly investigation, and decision-making
  • Define and capture data required to identify and quantify variances within stabilized processes
  • Ensure all relevant data and information is available to manufacturing engineers and operators to support timely and effective manufacturing process decisions
  • Identify and resolve gaps in available data and information

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
  • Minimum of a B.S. in computer science or equivalent and 4 years of experience in a related field
  • Experience in time series and imagery data storage, management, automated feature extraction and analysis
  • Database design, development, and management (SQL/NoSQL, XML/XSLT/XPath/XQuery) experience including Extract Transfer Load (ETL), unstructured and semi-structured data mining and extraction, and data warehousing
  • Software scripting abilities with implementation languages (Python, Perl, C/C++/C#/Java)
  • Desktop application/toolchain integration and scripting/automation skills
  • Experience in rapid web-based application prototyping, development, deployment, and support
  • Workflow modeling and automation experience
  • Knowledgeable in the use of AWS or other cloud infrastructure
  • Familiarity with procurement and scheduling systems
  • Industrial control and automation skills
  • Experience designing experiments, ANOVA, regression analysis, data model reduction, and factor analysis
  • Highly engaged and proactive with stakeholders in identifying opportunities and delivering solutions
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder)

Desired
  • Additive and/or CNC manufacturing/fabrication experience
  • Hands-on experience with materials and manufacturing processes
