Manufacturing and Test

DESCRIPTION:  As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will perform hands-on assembly, testing, and maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatically actuated cryogenic valves, systems and components for various spaceflight systems. This position will involve you in all aspects of assembly, testing, troubleshooting and will support flight operations.  Your passion for space means you’re committed to the necessary quality and attention to detail required to support human space flight. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities
  • Integration, test, functional verification, and troubleshooting of hydraulic  and pneumatically actuated cryogenic valves, systems and components
  • Assist engineers in reviewing and developing design concepts, tooling, test hardware and providing feedback for improvements
  • Follow, review, improve and provide feedback on work instructions for complex mechanical systems and installations
  • Safely work with chemical and/or high-pressure hazardous systems
  • Ensure tasks are performed on schedule, safely and in a professional manner
  • Rapidly adapt to changing roles while working in a challenging high-paced work environment
  • Show Innovation and accountability in the of improvement  of processes and the efficiency of operations and the work area
  • Maintain inventory of parts and equipment for assembly, test and maintenance of valve related systems
  • Overtime is often required for particular integration tasks or test series
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
  • 2 year AAS in appropriate engineering discipline and or 5 years’ experience (or equivalent) in aerospace, aircraft, R&D or related industrial fields
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals
  • A Demonstrated high-level problem of solving skills working in a team equipment
  • Physically able to climb ladders and stairs
  • Lift and carry 50 lbs. for limited durations
  • Typically 45 hours per week, schedule varies depending on needs, flexibility required
  • Work weekends and overtime when necessary
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder)

Desired
  • Experience with Cryogenic Systems; operation, safety and hardware; Pressure Vessels, Tubing, Fittings and Regulators
  • Fabrication and Machining to support development and test activities
  • Experience with CAD systems for review and interpretation of 3-D models
  • Certified forklift and crane operator
