Program Integration

DESCRIPTION:  As part of a small advanced concepts team, you will design and analyze various space and launch systems using various computational tools and systems engineering processes. The position is focused on conceptual design sizing and trade/sensitivity studies for launch vehicles, in-space transportation systems, and infrastructure with an emphasis on human missions. Relying on inter- and intra-group collaboration is necessary, so you should be comfortable working in an innovative, fast-paced and often uncertain environment, contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating teamwork, technical competence, and attention to detail. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of design and analysis studies
  • Perform architecture definition and concept sizing
  • Develop top-level architectural requirements
  • Perform heuristic and functional decomposition to scope the design and development of new architectures
  • Prepare and present findings and recommendations
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years industry experience in space systems, preferably launch systems development and operations
  • Demonstrated experience working in small teams on fast-paced projects
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative and collaborate
  • Ability to develop solutions with partially defined requirements and changing criteria
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident alien
 
Desired
  • MS in Engineering
  • Knowledge of systems engineering practices such as trade studies, establishing system metrics, and functional requirements derivation
  • Experience across the product life cycle (pre-conceptual design through field support)
  • Experience and knowledge of multi-disciplinary design optimization tools and techniques
  • Experience and knowledge of system level analysis tools including model-based engineering frameworks (e.g. ModelCenter)
  • Experience with mission design and trajectory analysis including Earth-to-orbit and in-space (e.g. POST, OTIS, Copernicus, STK Astrogator); includes 3DOF and 6DOF computational codes
  • Experience with propulsion analysis and sizing tools (e.g. ROCETS, REDTOP, etc.)
  • Experience with CAD tools
  • Experience with thermal systems analysis tools
  • Mass estimation and sizing
  • Cost estimation and modelling
  • Operations modelling
  • Experience with proposal development
