Engineering Software Developer
Location: Kent, Washington
As part of a small team, you will develop an integrated design and analysis system for space vehicles and missions. You will write tools for domain experts in rocket propulsion, aerodynamics, flight control, structural analysis, thermal/fluid systems, and flight dynamics.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement desktop and HPC software in support of vehicle design, manufacture and operation.
- Contribute to design and maintenance of distributed computing infrastructure.
Qualifications:
Required
- Minimum of a BS degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or other major requiring engineering core courses.
- Minimum of five years experience developing commercial engineering or math software.
- Experience either designing and implementing commercial APIs or in writing against existing commercial APIs. Knowledge of the various methodologies for both local and distributed intra-software communication and control.
- Experience designing and implementing graphical interfaces to complex systems.
- Development experience on both Windows and Linux.
- Knowledge of best practices for managing a commercial codebase.
- Fluent in C++, STL.
- Some experience with both Java and Fortran.
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or otherwise able to review all export-controlled technical information.
Desired
- Experience in numerical programming for design optimization, parameter estimation, uncertainty quantification, and sensitivity analysis.
- Experience with MPI or similar.
- Experience with Matlab.
- Experience with scripting language such as Python.
- Knowledge of CAD systems internals.
- Experience with numerical libraries such as LAPACK, PETs, CVODES, LSODE, PVODE, DASSL or similar.
