Launch Support Systems Engineer

Location: Kent, Washington

The Launch Support Systems Engineer will be the primary interface between the engineering team (located in Kent, Washington) and the Texas-based launch operations team. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining the infrastructure and tools that allow the two sites to operate as one. This position will be based in Kent, WA with periodic extended stays in Van Horn, TX during launch campaigns and for site maintenance.

Qualifications

This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and an attitude of world class quality and safety. Applicant must have experience in the operation and maintenance of a technical facility infrastructure, including IT aspects such as Windows and Linux system administration, WAN and LAN network design and operation, audio and video setup and operation, VoIP and analog telephony and the selection and management of equipment and service vendors. Experience in the safe operation and maintenance of site-wide electrical systems is also required. This position involves week- to month-long stints in a remote desert area and includes short periods of intense concentration: cool nerves and a tolerance for harsh environments are required. Applicants must qualify as a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, permanent resident, refugee or asylee.
