Integration Engineer
Location: Kent, Washington
As part of a small team, you will support the development and integration of space launch vehicles. Depending on operational needs, successful candidates will operate as an NC machinist, assembly mechanic, or test operator.
Responsibilities:
- Machining and fabricating flight vehicle components.
- Flight vehicle manufacturing, integration, system testing and transition of the completed vehicle to the operations team.
- Providing Design-For-Manufacturing input to the design engineers.
- Supporting activities, such as NC programming, ordering raw materials/tooling/fixtures/cutters, and maintaining equipment.
Qualifications:
Required
- At least 10 years experience in the machining, fabricating and assembly of aerospace components.
- Experience with conventional and CNC milling and turning.
- Knowledge of Fanuc & Haas controls, vertical machine centers (up to 4 axis), and NC lathes.
- Experience working with the following materials: Inconel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, foam, and plastics.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in one or more of the following aerospace subsystems: propulsion, structures, mechanical systems, electronics, communications or ground support equipment.
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or otherwise able to review all export-controlled technical information.
Desired
- NC programming skills.
- Concurrent experience in development, testing, troubleshooting, repair and operation of aircraft and/or launch vehicles.
- Knowledge of manufacturing planning practices, fabrication and integration processes and quality control.
- Certified welding of steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication.
- Capable of reading and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Knowledge in the use of 3-D CAD tools (ProEngineer is preferred).
